Well we’re here. We’re in Bath. After a grueling series of connections made up of long bouts of sitting, we have made it to our first destination. We will be in Bath for a few days and see the sights.
We wandered through Bath from the train station to Cornerways B&B, where we are staying in Room 3. Our route took us through a shopping area where many people were going about their business as it was around four or five pm local time.
After checking in and hearing the history of Bath from Sue (the owner), we freshened up and headed out. We ate dinner at The Raven, a little pub in town which became quite busy after a time.
We each had the Chicken of Aragon pie with red wine and thyme gravy and chips. Tommy made the better beer choice. I have been excited to try English apple cider ever since we decided to come here for our honeymoon, so naturally, I saw “Cider” and ordered it. My first taste was horribly jarring. The cider started sweet and then immediately transitioned to an over-bearing smoky flavor and ended in a horrible sour mess. Next time I will ask if I can taste the beer before I order a pint.
After dinner we explored the town. We found the Roman Baths (all locked up for the night and the walls were too tall to see over), the Bath Abbey, and the Pump Room where they serve tea and mineral water. The Romans and the early English believed that drinking this water would heal ailments. Sue told us that if we wanted to try it, to only order one and share it.
Our Dinner: My beer is on the left, Tommy's is on the right.

Bath Abbey: We were wandering and took a left from the sidewalk under arch into the minster square and saw what you see below.

We'll post some better pictures this evening of the Pump Room and other exciting sights!
